Songs From The Other Side

Robyn Perelman Bernstein has published her first book, “Songs From the Other Side,” a coming-of-age story for young adults that focuses on how one teenage girl relies on science, faith and music to cope with the difficulty of loss.

Songs From The Other Side is an uplifting story about loss and redemption through the eyes of a fifteen-year-old girl. Newly orphaned, Jayne comforts herself by reading her father's notebook which is filled with private lectures and hand written theories. These writings mirror the exact circumstances unfolding in Jayne's life and also foresee a chance encounter with Jonah, another science nerd who wants to guide Jayne through her grief. Jayne believes the contents of her father's journal provide secret messages for her and Jonah to escape to New York City. But is Jayne willing to betray the lessons in the journal when they no longer align with what she and Jonah ultimately intend to do? Only Jayne can decide if new love is worth the risk of losing her last connection to her Mom and Dad.
