Bill (and few friends made along the way) must escape the devastating wake of the Entity's terror, fighting for every inch of their lives in this jam-packed thriller, with action and horror running from cover-to-cover. Can Bill survive the Entity's wrath, or will he be consumed by darkness, forever forced to obey the Entity's twisted commands?

Twisted Shores is the first entry into The Twisted Boeman Series, and the debut novel of A. Ryan MacGibbon. Look out for Twisted in Time, the next entry in the series, and one that twists our understanding of time itself, and the horrors within.

Ron K. Bailey and Beverly W. Bailey

Ron K. Bailey and Beverly W. Bailey:

Adult Educators, Online Pioneers, Philanthropists, and Entrepreneurs

This historiography gave an objective view of how their roles in adult education made life better for their family, friends, employees, and students. It also tells the story of a Viet Nam Era Veteran who used his childhood work, Boy Scouts, Civil Air Patrol, High School Sports, and newspaper carrier experiences to execute a strategic plan. A plan which started with his move from an area with limited education and employment opportunities. Finally, this is also a partial view into the life of Beverly and her role in helping Ron achieve his dream.

With that said, the author believes that it is time for the adult education field to learn more about Ron K. Bailey’s contribution to adult education and online learning. The steps he took to overcome many barriers to rise to the presidency of an accredited university, pioneer online learning initiatives for adult learners, and design programs for working adults are worth sharing with the adult education community. A cornerstone of his adult education programs was providing adult students easy access to technical careers, accredited degrees, or career-changing diplomas.

One factor in Ron’s success at Strayer College was Beverly W. Bailey’s support.

The Organizing Idea

The Organizing Idea:

A Return to Good and Evil

The Organizing Idea is the individual’s manual for thriving in the current mass psychosis, and a weapon against the post-totalitarian system. Simpson asserts that we live in a world that not only assumes, but attempts to enforce the idea that there is nothing other than 'this', which leads to societal dysfunction, rejection of personal responsibility, and a specific form of totalitarianism. He examines contradiction at both the societal and individual level to trace the current mass psychosis to its primary enabler. In doing so, he exposes the contradictory values, actions, and beliefs inherent in our systems, institutions, and norms.

“There is a sort of schizophrenia in our world today where “anything is possible” but at the same time “nothing matters” because all of ‘this’ came from nowhere, is not going anywhere, exists for no reason, and we know this beyond a shadow of a doubt...”

This book takes the reader on a journey through “A sea of contradictions”, explicates how we all came to be so contradictory, and challenges the most sacred philosophical and scientific axioms that we have. The journey includes a history of ‘this’ and ‘other than this’ and reflects on historical moments of thriving when these two ideas were in balance, and societal collapse when they were not. Ultimately, this book is a phenomenological account of Projection and a theory about how all of ‘this’ works. This book is not for the faint of heart, as Simpson’s approach is extremely combative and brutally insightful. However, for those who can endure it, this is a journey that will not soon be forgotten. It empowers the individual with a life philosophy that simply cannot be shut down.

I Didn't Come Here To Tap Dance

( A Poetic Memoir)

Book Review:

I Didn't Come Here to Tap Dance

5.0 out of 5 stars This Collection is a Universe of Storied Truth-Telling

“I Didn’t Come Here to Tap Dance” is a self-portrait painted in poetry. And like a photomosaic, the larger picture derives the brilliance of its clarity from a carefully crafted tapestry of smaller images. Each one, a voyage to a world all its own. To experience, to explore, to savor. This collection is a universe of storied truth-telling about identity, freedom, war, religion, politics, music, and faith, starting in the Jim Crow South and ending at the Corona Virus question mark. Individually, these poems are blueprints for critical thinking in a world of hypocrisy and illusion. Paradigm shifting history lessons that provoke and connect the unaware to the unafraid. But together, they comprise a face so warm, a voice so strong, a sensation in my stomach so familiar, I recognize the messenger as my friend. In the lake of life, some choose to hurl heavy rocks with all their might, reveling in the size of a short-lived splash. Others aim and complain before skipping their turn, blaming the fear to let go on a frozen shoulder or limp wrist. But Ngoma Hill was born with a slingshot for a sidearm, and he’s been skipping stones for seventy-five years. Why would someone spend their life making waves? Because only the ripples reach the other shore.

The Lost Promise: American Universities in the 1960s

The Lost Promise:

American Universities in the 1960s

The Lost Promise is a magisterial examination of the turmoil that rocked American universities in the 1960s, with a unique focus on the complex roles played by professors as well as students.

The 1950s through the early 1970s are widely seen as American academia’s golden age, when universities—well funded and viewed as essential for national security, economic growth, and social mobility—embraced an egalitarian mission. Swelling in size, schools attracted new types of students and professors, including radicals who challenged their institutions’ calcified traditions. But that halcyon moment soon came to a painful and confusing end, with consequences that still afflict the halls of ivy. In The Lost Promise, Ellen Schrecker—our foremost historian of both the McCarthy era and the modern American university—delivers a far-reaching examination of how and why it happened.

Schrecker illuminates how US universities’ explosive growth intersected with the turmoil of the 1960s, fomenting an unprecedented crisis where dissent over racial inequality and the Vietnam War erupted into direct action. Torn by internal power struggles and demonized by conservative voices, higher education never fully recovered, resulting in decades of underfunding and today’s woefully inequitable system. As Schrecker’s magisterial history makes blazingly clear, the complex blend of troubles that disrupted the university in that pivotal period haunts the ivory tower to this day.
