In the early part of 2014, he experienced a quite severe psychotic episode, which sparked a strongly held belief that his life might be in mortal danger from the authorities, due to his powerful conviction that he was seen as a threat to governments around the world. Were these delusions a symptom of his illness, or had he in fact broken through to new levels of insight? The story takes a searingly honest and at times humorous look at his life in 2014. Although he felt very much protected by gods in the universe watching his every move, nothing could prepare him for the events at the end of the year, and the accompanying ramifications and shock waves.

Purgatorium

The Last Portrait
It was a week and a-half before Christmas. My daughter, Monique Nelson, had just finished having her annual holiday portrait taken with her two year old son, Jayden at a one-hour photo shop on Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento. After the photo-shoot, they stopped in at Fly Cuts & Styles barbershop next door, where Jayden often got his hair cut, to get gum from the 25¢ gumball machine and to say hi to the barbers before heading home. Just as Monique was buckling little Jayden into his car seat, what police described as “a massive firefight” broke out between two rival gangs who happened to also be at the barbershop. Monique instinctively draped her body over her baby to protect him. One bullet smashed through the window of her Chevy Tahoe and into her body.
Six other people were injured in that maelstrom. Jayden survived. But Monique did not. She died in her baby’s lap. Six people were subsequently arrested and charged in Monique’s murder.
I had recently taken a health-related, early retirement from a successful career as an elementary school principal. My three children had grown to be wonderful, independent young people with gifts and talents of their own. But immediately after Monique’s violent death, I found myself spiraling into the Black Hole of grief—an unimaginable place that too many American mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, grandparents and other family members, friends, and a lovers all too often find themselves. I thought I had a way out when I focused my energies on the task of raising the child of my child, which was Monique’s wish as expressed in her will. But that carpet of comfort was pulled out from under me when Jayden’s father appeared to reclaim the son he had not previously known—and won the custody court battle. The spiral into unabated heartache only deepened. And then my faith left me.
What do you do when the faith that you were brought up in does not hold up against the grief that is thrust upon you? When you feel abandoned by the very deity you’ve spent a lifetime worshiping? And you can no longer see your way to forgiveness, reconciliation, or even living?
The Last Portrait: A Psalm for Monique is my answer to that question. It is my memoir, a story of life and love, love lost, and a mother’s desperate struggle to fight her way out of the Black Hole of grief and heartache. It is also a memorial to my daughter, Monique.

I am a book coach, and I have read all that there is on Amazon when it comes to book publishing. This is the only book that gives ALL this detailed information, step by step process, as well as a huge amount of resources that you could never find alone even if you tried for ages - and to be honest - not many other authors accept to share (or they don't know about). In addition to this, the author is very modest, she admits that if she had not all this help from her daughter and her launching team, she would not succeed an Amazon bestseller status. If you bought just one book on book publishing and promoting, I would strongly recommend this one.

If he managed not to be strung up by her brother and friends, it could be a beginning. He should run. He new he should, but he wouldn't, he couldn't. She already had a part of him he swore was dead.
Amy-I had been damn near dead for over two years and out of nowhere this man appeared. I had no reason or right to trust him, but I did. I not only trusted him, I was mesmerized by him. He was a blond leopard with ice blue eyes that pierced me. William Bentley Carter III came to my tattoo shop and took me to coffee. Then he gave me my first sexual kiss in over two years. Many were forced to learn to love, rather than be free to find it as were the poor. The poor could find their mate, rather than be forced into an arranged marriage. Love and life were very much dependent on the class into which you were born.
This book is the story of a man, who wished to be his own man. He knew his place in this world wasn’t what was given or laid out before him. Jacque wished to make his own way. During his exploits, he found himself on foreign and biased soil. This is where his life would change; it would begin. He fell in love with a woman he was forbidden to marry. Their love for each other carried them to places neither of them thought possible, both good and bad. This is a story not just about love, but life.
