Wonderful Day

A Lone Chair Sitting on a Hill at Sunset.

Wonderful Day

Excerpt:

The sky burned a fiery red, lighting the road back to the family farm. In my arms, I carried my dog, Chance, who had suffered a broken leg. I had contemplated eating him but quickly chose otherwise. I would instead return home to gather in prayer and die. I had but a mile to go when I saw her, standing perfectly still. Her small, lean frame resembled a crane, but they had perished long ago, succumbing to the ravenous drought.

“May I help you?” I asked.

She turned to me and smiled. “My name is Hope.”

GOODREADS REVIEWS:

Steve Akerson - "What a wonderful short story. It takes only minutes to read, but it carries a lot with it. I'm sure there is much, much more in the story that I did not catch the first time I read it, so I'll read it again. The book is full of Hope, full of peace, full of the truth about our loving Father. His love pours out of every page, meeting each person at the point of their need, and filling them with hope for tomorrow - even if they don't have a clue what tomorrow will bring.

Turns out that the tomorrow's in this book bring Jesus and his new-every-day mercies to a growing crowd of needy folks. His love surrounds them as they are continually astounded by his works.

I urge you to read this book, and think of Jesus and others around you as you do. Opportunities will come your way to bring Hope to those who desperately need it."
