Bricked In

There's not a whole lot that can prepare you for "Bricked In," as this novel can be considered anything but normal. Max Wannow has written one of the most disturbing and grotesque books out there. The content of this novel rips so far into moral limitations that reading it irrevocably changes the reader. This exceeds any typical expectations when approaching dystopian, which is something that is incredibly unique. The sex and violence, written in escalating graphic detail, carries an undeniable weight. It's the suggestion that within us all are urges for hedonistic chaos. "Bricked In" revels in its sheer inventive awfulness and dares the reader to find a more serious layer of meaning.
